Six things that set our work apart
None of these are unusual claims — they are the everyday standards we hold ourselves to on every file.
Single-area focus
We concentrate on pension matters. Not employment law in general, not property disputes — just pension-related legal work. That focus keeps our knowledge current and our advice relevant.
Everything in writing
Every instruction, every significant update, and every fee arrangement is documented. You are never relying on a verbal understanding of what we said we would do.
Named counsel throughout
You will know the name of the lawyer handling your matter from the start. Your file is not passed between juniors as staffing dictates — continuity is part of how we work.
Fixed service fees
Our three services are priced at ฿4,650, ฿10,200, and ฿16,500 respectively. You know the cost before you commit. Scope changes require your agreement before any additional charge applies.
Cross-border experience
We regularly handle matters that involve pension entitlements from more than one country. Understanding how foreign schemes interact with Thai residency and tax status is a routine part of our work.
Remote-friendly service
Most of our work can be done entirely by video call and email. If you are outside Bangkok or living abroad, that is not an obstacle — it is simply how we operate for many clients.
Specialist legal knowledge, applied carefully
Pension law in Thailand draws on employment legislation, social security regulation, fund-specific rules, and — for many clients — bilateral agreements with other countries. It is a narrow but detailed area, and the quality of advice depends on how well a practitioner knows it.
Our team has worked exclusively in this area for the better part of a decade. We do not learn as we go on a client's file — we bring an understanding that has been built case by case over many years.
- Deep familiarity with the Social Security Fund, Government Pension Fund, and private occupational schemes
- Experience with bilateral social security agreements involving Thailand
- Membership of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, maintained in good standing
- Regular participation in continuing professional development in pension and social security law
- Secure digital client portal for document exchange and progress tracking
- Structured file notes after every significant call or meeting
- Internal review checkpoint before major submissions are filed
- Closing summary provided at the conclusion of every engagement
A process designed around you, not around us
We have thought carefully about how information flows between our team and our clients. Each service follows a documented process with defined steps, review points, and communication intervals.
This means you are never left wondering where things stand. Progress is visible, and the next step is always explained before it happens.
Client care that is measured by your experience
We ask for feedback at the end of every engagement, and we take it seriously. The things that matter to clients — being kept informed, being treated with respect, not feeling rushed — are the things we measure ourselves against.
Our size is a deliberate choice. A small team means we can be attentive in a way that is harder to sustain at scale.
- Dedicated point of contact for every client
- Response to enquiries within one working day
- Plain-language updates — no unnecessary legal terminology
- Consultations available by video call for clients outside Bangkok
How We Compare

What Makes Us Different
Distinctive features of working with Thara Counsel
Written Assessment Summary included
Every Pension Position Assessment includes a written summary that is yours to keep, share with family, or use for future reference. You leave the engagement with a document, not just a conversation.
No obligation to proceed further
We make each service a genuine decision point. Completing an Assessment does not commit you to Managed Correspondence — and Managed Correspondence does not commit you to Full Pension Defence. Each step stands on its own.
Bilingual capability
Our team works in both English and Thai. Documents can be reviewed and correspondence prepared in either language, depending on what the matter and the authorities require.
Closing report on every engagement
At the conclusion of any full matter, we prepare a closing report that summarises what was done, what was achieved, and any points to be aware of going forward. A clear record is part of the service.
